I was up in the mountain at the weekend, making the bed, when it suddenly struck me. Our old wrought-iron bed header with its sinuous curves and slightly peeling paint, would make the perfect stencil for a background. I can’t believe I haven’t noticed it before. I have been staring at it for an entire season now without realising its potential. But I am glad enlightenment struck, even though it took four or so months. I took loads of snapshots, which I have just downloaded off my camera. I can’t wait to turn them into stencils and make a background with them. I am thinking brown and cream.
