  • The summer giveaway is here!

Phew, putting together this giveaway took me a lot longer than I though. life kept interfering. But finally, finally it is ready, and I can officially launch my artsy summer (with just five days’ delay over the start of the season).
So my plan for the next two months is to fill up my days with art in order to make the heat and seaside more bearable. And the plan for this giveaway is for you to leave a comment below telling me what artsy project you are hoping to work on this summer—I am looking for things to do, and I am sure your comments will inspire me.
A week from today, on Friday 3 July, I will pick the winners, courtesy of Random.org. And the prizes are…
    1. printable collaged paper for one winner

    Background paper

    2. blog banners for two winners (actual size is bigger than the one shown below)

    Summer giveaway blog banner

Love it here. sweet!! I am working on garden things and CD spinners for the garden. tutorial on the blog for the garden head. Doing some swaps for PID. Working on a piece for a class I took. Busy-too hot to do anything outside.

Back with my summer project idea!
I have lots of garden collages that I would like to incorporate in a book. Not sure whether to alter an old garden book or make my own pages and cover.

Working on scrapbook pages and Christmas cards for a design team I’m on. I’m like you - summer is not my favorite season. Try some winter or Christmas projects; you’ll have stuff done early and can think about cold weather and snow!!

      My blog link, http://elmilagrostudio.blogspot.com/2009/06/pieces
shows what I spend way too much time doing. I had not used a transparency in my work before but enjoyed the ability to allow the work behind to show through.
You have to SEE it; way too long to describe!
And yes, it is miserably hot here too, which seems to cut into my creativity. I just want to read and sleep!

Beautiful collage and headers. The collage would make a nice focal point for a crazy quilt purse or wall hanging.

What a lovely site you have here. Your work is soothing to the eye! I love them all but have no plans to change my banner at this point so I’d have to say the first one is my favorite–I’m sure my Mom would love it too–music was and somehow still is something we still share.
      Thanks for sharing, Nola

Love your printables. I am in the process of making two wedding portrait collages for two different couples (friend of the family and my nephew) so that will keep me busy. 16X20 so there is a lot of collage and photos.

What gorgeous giveaways. This summer I am going to concentrate on drawing and painting in order to keep my mind off of the hot days and nights. I’m also planning to play with backgrounds and work in my journal.

I am hoping to make a mini book about me, I have made many pages and mini books about the kids and my DH, I thought that I should do a book about me before it`s too late and the kids will have a record of who I am and what I was like. I will hopefully include some of my private thoughts and wishes, that I don`t share with others.
I love your vintage, I also don`t have a blog.

Dear Carla, everything is beautiful as usual! We are very lucky here in the San Francisco Bay area - we have beautiful weather all summer, maybe a heat wave or two, but sun every day, reasonable temperatures, no humidity, no rain :-) Which means its hard to stay indoors and work on art projects. So what I hope to do this summer is maintain some kind of momentum. I have too many fits and starts, and not enough momentum :-) Diane

This summer I plan to do beeswax collage (funny here in hot Arizona at 100 + degrees) and also some fabric collages.

I am taking old cloth covered books, preferably ones with pictures or engravings on the front and some nice drawings or pictures inside, tearing them apart and adding back plain paper with a few of the pages from the book, spiral binding them and making them into journals.

Love your give aways, they are beautiful.
