Hi Connie, thank you for your kind words. Yes, I make the papers myself. I have a tendency to go homegrown on just about everything I do, so soon after I got into paper arts about years ago, I thought it would be nicer to make my own background papers rather than using mass-produced ones, so I started experimenting with block of colours and textures. After that, it all kind of evolved organically. I started making collages papers, then added paint..and now it has got to the point that I no longer use any store bought paper. Now I am experimenting with digital stamps (making black and White stamp like images that you can pritn and colour).
It helps that I collect ephemera and Victorian trade cards, so I have a huge stash of imagery at hand. Which brings me to Bay City. No, I am not from there (I live in London) but a couple of years ago there was a huge estate sale from the area and I bought a fair amount of letters, postcards and documents from there. It is lovely stuff, and I really enjoy using it in my collages and designs. My husband thinks I am crazy (his line is that I buy other people's rubbish) but I just love delving into the lives of these people from a bygone time--and of course use their mementoes in my work.
Ok, I'd better stop before I bore you rigid...but I am going to hop over to your blog and peruse!
Thanks for stopping by

Darn it!!I have to quit going through your blog... Now I see a Bay City, Michigan postmark on that paper. Seriously? Is this where you're from? I'm currently in Washington, but lived in the Bay City area my entire life. My family is still there. WE have to chat! :)
