My baby turns one today and officially becomes a toddler.
She went from this…

To this…

In just twelve short months.
Since you turn one only once in your life, we are going to celebrate in style. We had a party with my parents last Sunday, we are having a little family do today, and another big party with my in-laws next Saturday. Oh and we went to a prehistory theme park (more for Nicco’s benefit than for Caterina, really) where we saw this:

Caterina really enjoyed the first of her birthday celebrations (though she was a bit baffled by the cake at first).

Nicco and I have baked the only cakes she can eat (yogurt cake on Sunday and lemon cake today) and I have made her a little banner (and a book which, however, is still work in progress). Nicco also decorated a bodysuit for her with fabric markers.
Sadly, though, I have to admit that her favourite present is most definitely not hand-made—it’s a Disney princess ride-on. What sort of daughter am I raising?!?

P.S.: this reminds me that 1. I have to order some charms from Alpha Stamps and 2. I have to email Joy at Cupid’s Charm about a present I’d like to buy from her. I am telling you all about it so you’ll hold me accountable and I’ll actually do it rather than just put it on my mental to do list.

Both of your children are adorable! Enjoy – before you know it, they will be in college (like mine!).
She is so beautiful, Carla. She looks like each of the four of you in turn! Happy, happy birthday dear little Caterina.
Everyone says she looks like Manfredi (sans beard of course) but I see a lot of Niccolo in her too. Little of me though! And Joan, yes I know they grow up so quickly. It seems yesterday that Nicco was Caterina’s age…
