The lovely Joy at Cupid’s Charm is hosting a Beautiful Blogging Party to celebrate being featured in Stampington magazines’s latest Artful Blogging issue.
She is asking everyone to say why they love blogging. So why do I? Let’s see—here are my top ten reasons:
1. Because, after a long day alone with a (nearly) five year old boy and a one-year-old girl, blogging is like having a grown-up conversation with the world.
2. Because I love writing and have a passion for art and this blog allows me to bring them both together and spread my wings.
3. Because my son is so proud of what he calls my online magazine that every time he does something worthy of note he says : “Let’s put it on our magazine.”
4. Because when I am hopping up and down with excitement for a new collage background, I know I can write about it and someone out there will ‘get it.’
5. Because when my son falls in love with a children’s book author /illustrator, I can write about it—and get a comment from the man himself giving me the heads up on his new book.
6. Because I can share my passion for collageing, mixed media, paper arts and plain old junque accumulation with people who don’t think I am (completely) insane.
7. Because through this blog I get to meet interesting, stimulating, creative people every day.
8. Because a lovely comment at the end of a hard day will lift my spirits and make me smile.
9. Because this blog has given me the courage, the springboard and the ideas to start pursuing my professional dreams.
10. Because I am inspired by all the great artful blogs out there and I hope that mine too will in a small way inspire other people to have fun and create.
There are other, far more serious reasons behind this blog and my emotional attachment to it, but that’s a story for another day. And now let’s celebrate!
