  • In my mother’s garden

Since I last visited it, my mother’s garden has turned into a jungle—some corners are so luxuriant that you have to squeeze between overhanging branches to walk down what once was a path.
Which can be inconvenient at time, but whatever the discomfort, it is more than compensated by the sheer abundance of dazzling coloured flowers—geraniums, gazanias, and, most of all, roses like I’d never seen before. It is wonderful eye candy, and heavenly scented to boot.
